eLEARNING and CREATIVE MULTIMEDIA SPECIALIST
Dr. Makingu Mondi holds BSc. (Hons) degree in Technology (England, UK), M.A. degree in Communication and PhD degree in Creative Multimedia (Malaysia). Dr. Mondi has vast working experience in media and allied industries. He has worked in England, Kenya and Malaysia, in various departments including: Quality Assurance and Control, Research and Development, Computer studies, Graphic design, and Multimedia production. He is currently spearheading development of Multimedia-based eLearning Resources at Kenyatta University.
Senior Lecturer at Kenyatta University: Subject Matter expert in various areas including: Graduate Research and Writing; Design, Print , Broadcast and and Multimedia production; Applied Media Research; Exploring Mass Media studies; Audio and Video production; Digital photography; Web Design and Creative Multimedia production; Communication theories; Colour theory, formats and media aesthetics; Principles and processes of communication; Curriculum development; Information Communication Technologies.
eLearning specialist: Development and deployment of multimedia-based digital content and eLearning systems
Thesis supervision: Supervised and examined several Postgraduate Theses
Research interests: My research interests include: (a) Creative multimedia, modelling and animation: 2D graphics and 3D modelling; 2D and 3D animation; (b) Audio, Videography and Film technologies; (c) Development of eLearning resources, and other digital content variants; (d) Curriculum development, instruction design, module writing, and Digital Media for Education; (e) Scripting, storyboarding, Multimedia Design, Programming and Authoring; (f) Interface design and interactive media technologies; (g) Fluid and Responsive Web design; and (h) Development and deployment of Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) including visualisation, Augmented and Virtual Reality simulations.
